Postalloy® TIGWELD 30-B
Postalloy® TIGWELD 30-B is designed for welding all types of steel and for steels of unknown chemistry. Postalloy® TIGWELD 30-B has outstanding crack resistance, ductility and high strength combined with a high alloy chemistry. When welding high carbon steels, such as tool steels or spring steels, Postalloy® TIGWELD 30-B neutralizes the effects of carbon, virtually eliminating cracking and hard spots. Deposits do not respond to heat treatment and remain ductile. When used as a cushion layer beneath tool steel or wear-facing overlays, it has the ability to withstand heavy impact, vibration and shock
* Versatility, excellent for steels of unknown chemistry
* Neutralizes the effects of carbon
* Acts as a shock absorber, as it has the ability to withstand heavy impact, vibration and shock

Welding Procedure:
Use Argon Gas Shielding- DC Straight Polarity. Use Postalloy® 2802 2% Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes. Remove contaminants and any defective metal. Remove all grease and oil with a cleaner. Low alloy steels and high carbon steels should be preheated to 300°F-400°F (149°C-205°C). In multiple pass welding, remove oxide film with stainless steel wire brush between passes. Adjust amperage to base metal thickness. Back fill any weld craters.
