Postalloy® DuraChrome™ 2832-MCO
Postalloy® DuraChrome™ 2832-MCO is a premium chromium carbide hardfacing alloy that has a high volume fraction of carbides dispersed in a hard matrix. For applications involving high abrasion and mild or moderate impact. Deposit polish in service and are heat resistant to 1000 °F (538 °C). Use on carbon, low alloy steel, and manganese steel.

Welding Parameters
Current Type: DC Electrode Positive , DC Electrode Negative
Volts | Amps | Diameter | Stick Out |
---|---|---|---|
18-24 | 140-200 | .045" (1.2mm) | 3/4"-1" (19-25mm) |
22-28 | 170-300 | 1/16" (1.6mm) | 1"-1¼" (25-32mm) |
25-29 | 240-400 | 3/32" (2.4mm) | 1"-1½" (25-38mm) |
26-32 | 250-450 | 7/64" (2.8mm) | 1"-1½" (25-38mm) |
Welding Procedure:
When welding out of position, use .045 (1.2mm) with Electrode Positive polarity and the lower range of amperages and voltages. Weld vertical down with 3/4" (19mm) wide weave beads. A gas cover will be helpful, especially when using a constant current power source and voltage sensing feeder.
Product Equivalent:
Electrode: Postalloy® 214 Flux-coated Electrode,
Electrode: Postalloy® 215HD Tubular Electrode
