About Postle Industries
Company General History and Overview
In business since 1969, Postle Industries offers a complete range of welding alloys designed to protect equipment and components from wear caused by abrasion, impact, metal-to-metal friction, erosion and cavitation. Our Postalloy® range of hardfacing products coupled with the experience and expertise we share with our customers have resulted in significant savings in industries including mining, farming, agriculture, recycling, and construction.
Our Goal
The goal of hardfacing technology is to improve productivity, cut downtime, and reduce the cost of replacement parts by extending the service life of equipment.
At Postle, we strive for product and technical leadership. To assure success time after time, we consistently focus our time and energy on providing welding products that are of the highest quality and welding know-how that is second to none. Every effort is made to provide welding alloys with maximum performance that are user friendly. We continue to innovate and develop on a daily basis in our custom-built laboratory.

Postle Industry Milestones and Events
In 1980, Postle introduced some of the first Postalloy® .045" (1.2 mm) hard surfacing wires and helped pioneer their development and growth. Today, small diameter hard surfacing wires have gained widespread and world-wide acceptance.
In 1987, recognizing the need for wear resistant solutions that went beyond welding, Postle introduced its MetalTec® range of special repair and abrasion resistant ceramic compounds. They are unique blends of advanced polymers combined with ceramic and stainless-steel fillers.
In 2002, Postle turned their attention to the Oil and Gas Drilling industry. A group of uniquely designed non-cracking wear resistant alloys were created for hardbanding drill pipe. Tuffband NC was developed in 2002, followed by Duraband NC in 2007, the first 100% crack free hardbanding alloy for maximum wear protection.
In 2013, Postle Industries turned its attention to welding applications in the railroad industry related to hard surfacing and buildup of rail and track components. North America has over 200,000 miles of track that must be maintained on a daily basis. Wear from the constant pounding of rail cars and locomotives on frogs and switches is a never-ending problem. Two new products were introduced – Postalloy® Frogtuff and Railtuff, available as both flux-cored wire and flux-coated electrodes.
In 2019, after seeing a need for new technology and welding equipment for hardfacing, Postle became an “Authorized Partner Plus” with Fronius. The versatility of Fronius welding equipment provides a major advantage to their users. Advanced process controls, unmatched technology and ease of use allows the user to control the ARC better than any other equipment on the market. This partnership has proven to bring new possibilities where hardfacing with wire was once thought impossible.
In 2019, Postle introduces a new line of products containing RCT™ (Reactive Core Technology). During welding, components in the core of the tubular wire or electrode require energy to react and melt together to form the hardfacing alloy. Postle’s Welding Products with RCT contain special “Reactors” in the core to assure a controlled reaction between alloys and other elements, improving weldability, as well as the matrix of the finished hardface product, resulting in optimum wear properties
In 2020, Postle opened a division in Scotland. Making it easier to expand their reach in Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle East
