                Postalloy Flux-coated electrode: High chromium carbide hardfacing electrode POSTALLOY® 214 is a high chromium carbide hardfacing electrode for high abrasion and mild impact applications. Deposits take on a high polish, producing excellent frictional and sliding abrasion resistance. Use on carbon and alloy steels, stainless steels and cast iron.
                POSTALLOY® 214 is highly resistant to heat and corrosion. Corrosion resistance is equal to straight chromium steels and it retains it's hardness up to 1000°F(538°C).
                POSTALLOY® 214 offers good out-of-position welding characteristics on either AC or DC. It offers fast deposition rate and easy slag removal. It produces minimum dilution for high first past hardness and deposits are extremely smooth and virtually ripple free.

                POSTALLOY® 215HD Product Description Typical Applications
                Postalloy Flux-coated Tubular Electrode POSTALLOY® 215HD is a chromium carbide tubular hardface electrode. It's tubular structure permits higher travel speeds and much higher percentages of carbide forming elements contained in the core than with ordinary flux-coated electrodes. Due to its unique tubular design, POSTALLOY® 215HD offers very smooth operational characteristics and is over 90% efficient. All of the 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" diameters will fit standard electrode holders.        
                   • Easy out-of-position weldability with the 1/4" diameter
                   • Excellent AC or DC operation, even on a "buzz box"
                   • High metal recovery - no slag to chip
                   • Low amperage and high deposition rates - up to 3 times faster than ordinary electrodes
                   • Moisture resistant coating, even under severe weather or high humidity.
                Weld deposit chemistries consist of chromium carbides combined in such a way as to produce extremely good abrasion resistance coupled with mild to moderate impact resistance. Deposits take on a high polish to resist sliding particle abrasion and will maintain good hot hardness up to 1000°F (538°C).

                        POSTALLOY® CF-27 is a high hardness, chromium-free metal-cored hardfacing overlay designed for high abrasion applications with minimal impact. The unique wear properties are derived from a network of Boron, Niobium, Vanadium and Molybdenum Carbides in a hard carbon/iron matrix. Abrasive wear properties are superior to traditional chromium carbide alloys of similar hardness - 60 to 65Rc. This alloy has excellent weldability without exposing the welder to harmful hexavalent chromium fumes with a very smooth bead with no slag to remove. Deposit efficiency over 90%. CF27 may be used with any common shielding gas or open-arc.

                        Caution - Even though most of the welding fume comes from the electrode/filler wire, some of the fume does come from the base metal being welded. Therefore, the base material should be checked for chromium content...

                        Postalloy® PS-150 is a tubular metal-cored hardfacing wire that provides a dense, heterogeneous deposit of vanadium - tungsten carbides, along with other elements to enhance wear resistance, resulting in a very good combination of abrasion and impact resistance that is superior to chromium carbide hardfacing alloys. Almost equal to tungsten carbide in hardness, and half the weight. Postalloy Vanguard PS-150 is not a replacement for tungsten carbide overlays. However, it is a good alternative to tungsten carbide hardfacing alloys when they are too expensive or when MIG carbide embedding is not available or impractical.

                        Unlike straight tungsten carbides, which are heavy and forced to the bottom of the weld puddle, the composition of Postalloy® PS-150 is ideally balanced to provide a uniform distribution of vanadium - tungsten carbides throughout a tough steel matrix that takes more impact than both chromium and tungsten carbides. Provides a much more consistent wear rate and is much more receptive to multiple re-applications. Used for many different hardfacing applications in mining, construction, recycling, dredging and forestry and is ideal for hammer applications (martillo), such as fribrizor hammers, sugar mill hammers, debarking hammers and shredding hammers.

                        Postalloy® PS-2000 is specifically designed to produce a high concentration of fine chromium carbides in an austenitic matrix. The fine dispersion of chromium carbides greatly improves the abrasive wear resistance and impact toughness compared to ordinary chromium carbide products. Postalloy® PS-2000 can be applied to carbon steels, low alloy steels, manganese steels and cast iron rolls.

                        Very consistent crack pattern makes PS-2000 an excellent choice for multi-layer hardface applications.This helps reduce the probability of spalling and chipping.

                        POSTALLOY® PS-9 & PS-10 are tungsten carbide, nickel base hardfacing wires designed to resist severe abrasion but unlike traditional tungsten carbide wires, they absorb more impact without fracturing. These alloys can be applied crack-free with the proper welding procedures. These alloys are great for parts that are repeatedly hardfaced and are prone to spalling. Because of the unique chemistry, Tungsten-Carbide-Nickel-Chromium-Silicon-Boron, they also have excellent resistance to erosive wear, frictional wear, corrosive wear, and maintain their hardness, even at temperatures of 1100°F (593°C). Weld deposits contain over 50% fully fused, pre-alloyed carbides. The alloying elements in these wires produce a high hardness alloy that encapsulates and protects the carbide particles, reducing premature wear caused by erosion next to the carbide particles. POSTALLOY® PS-9 & PS-10 have very good weldability and a very soft arc, this, in combination with the nickel matrix, reduces weld dilution and carbide dilution to produce truly outstanding multi-wear wires.                                                         POSTALLOY® PS-9 & PS-10 are tungsten carbide, nickel base hardfacing wires designed to resist severe abrasion but unlike traditional tungsten carbide wires, they absorb more impact without fracturing. These alloys can be applied crack-free with the proper welding procedures. These alloys are great for parts that are repeatedly hardfaced and are prone to spalling. Because of the unique chemistry, Tungsten-Carbide-Nickel-Chromium-Silicon-Boron, they also have excellent resistance to erosive wear, frictional wear, corrosive wear, and maintain their hardness, even at temperatures of 1100°F (593°C). Weld deposits contain over 50% fully fused, pre-alloyed carbides. The alloying elements in these wires produce a high hardness alloy that encapsulates and protects the carbide particles, reducing premature wear caused by erosion next to the carbide particles.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             POSTALLOY® PS-9 & PS-10 are tungsten carbide, nickel base hardfacing wires designed to resist severe abrasion but unlike traditional tungsten carbide wires, they absorb more impact without fracturing. These alloys can be applied crack-free with the proper welding procedures. These alloys are great for parts that are repeatedly hardfaced and are prone to spalling.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Postalloy® PS-150 is a tubular metal-cored hardfacing wire that provides a dense, heterogeneous deposit of vanadium - tungsten carbides, along with other elements to enhance wear resistance, resulting in a very good combination of abrasion and impact resistance that is superior to chromium carbide hardfacing alloys. Almost equal to tungsten carbide in hardness, and half the weight. Postalloy Vanguard PS-150 is not a replacement for tungsten carbide overlays. However, it is a good alternative to tungsten carbide hardfacing alloys when they are too expensive or when MIG carbide embedding is not available or impractical.
